Action field
The surgeon odontostomatological and 'specialized in tooth avulsion complex including the maxillary, coring of oral cancer (cysts, epulidi, odontomas, lipomas), the endodontic surgery (apicoectomies) of preprosthetic (sinus surgery), grafts of bone and tissues and all implantology (interventions designed to replace missing teeth by the insertion of titanium screws in the jaw, on which the prosthesis) is then completed.
Wisdom teeth extraction
Wisdom teeth, or of wisdom, technically called third molars, or second round, are the last teeth that appear in the permanent human dentition.
Why dentists often advise to extract wisdom teeth?
It is increasingly easy abutment observe in patients a significant discrepancy between the size of the jaw (maxilla and mandible) and the number and size of the teeth. This phenomenon, evolving signal of the jaw, involves the need to extract wisdom teeth that easily remain "trapped" without being able to explode into the correct position. They can be completely included in the bone or remain partially erupted, encouraging more often recurrence of infections with pain, swelling, damage to adjacent teeth and difficulty opening the mouth, processes that are called dysodontiasis. In some cases must be extracted for dental crowding reasons and to avoid relapses after treatment with orthodontic braces, finally sometimes they cause chronic lesions of the oral mucosa, which could develop into cancerous lesions.
When they have to be extracted wisdom teeth?
There is no age default. Generally the extractions of these teeth erupting in the mouth between 17-21 years are indicated in young people, as before age 20 the roots are not yet fully formed, the bone tissue is less compact and the possibility of damaging nearby structures in the intervention they are minimal.
